Central Construction Group (CCG), a premiere Indianapolis home remodeler, provides the perfect playbook for applause-worthy kitchen designs. Display mouth-watering snacks on a newly installed kitchen island or store extra supplies in brand-new cabinets. Whatever makes your life easier, CCG can tackle it.

Sack Matching Features: Multiple Tones and Textures for the Win

open concept home remodeling

Trending now are two, even three-tone kitchens. Popular styles include mixing white upper cabinetry with colored or natural wood bases. Fashionable color choices include greens, blues and grays.

“We are even doing a purple kitchen now,” says CCG Design Expert Stephanie Larmor.

Homeowners are also opting for quartz countertops with “veined” carrara elements, as well as wall sconces and brass finishes that contrast with stainless steel appliances. On the flip side, paneled appliances, such as refrigerators and dishwashers, elongate cabinetry and provide a cohesive flow.

For flooring, Larmor suggests combining wood tones, whether it’s through luxury vinyl planks or traditional hardwoods.

Punt Outdated Storage: Kitchen Islands Make a Comeback

Studies indicate 63% of kitchen remodels include an island. Islands serve many practical purposes from providing extra seating to increased storage and prep space. Islands containing cabinet doors are most common, followed by islands with sliding drawers or open-concept shelving.

For added kitchen texture, pick an island color that contrasts with the main cabinet colors, or turn your wall tile into an accent wall from countertop to ceiling for easy cleaning behind the cook top or kitchen sink. Similarly, islands featuring a different countertop than the rest of the space also helps add visual interest. Popular options include butcher block styles, granite, or marble.

If functionality is high on your priority list, consider installing an island with built-in appliances, like an extra sink, dishwasher or garbage disposal.
