CCG Expands and Updates Zionsville Home with New Kitchen Addition

Updating your home with a new kitchen addition not only adds value, it also provides a more comfortable living space and central gathering point, whether you’re feeding a hungry family, catching up with old friends, or working from home.

After outgrowing a small kitchen and deciding to turn it into an office, a Zionsville homeowner reached out to Central Construction Group (CCG) for help in building a larger kitchen addition on the back of their home. The professional-quality results give the home a more modern, updated look while also retaining its rustic, farmhouse-style appeal.

Here are some highlights, as well as before-and-after photos, of this 2023 kitchen addition project with full-service contracting services provided by CCG.

Before Construction

Before constructing the new kitchen, walls in this Zionsville home separated the dining room and living room from the small kitchen.

During Construction

Once a contract was signed and material selections made, CCG began constructing the frame for the new addition.

In addition to making the space structurally sound, CCG added roofing, insulation, a window, back door, and exterior finishes to match the existing home.

After Construction

For the new kitchen cabinetry, the homeowner decided to mix finishes by pairing a natural-looking English Walnut Hickory Stain with Sherwin Williams’ Snowbound gray-toned white for the wall cabinets and Liveable Green for the base cabinets.

The cabinets were built with a 1¼-inch full overlay, which means the cabinet doors and drawer fronts completely cover the face frame and extend 1¼ inches beyond the cabinet opening on all sides for a clean and contemporary look.

For the cabinet door styles, the homeowner chose Shaker-style with a bevel chamfer edge to ease sharp corners. Top cabinet drawer fronts are slab flat panels, while other drawer fronts are 5-piece Shaker, and Shaker crown moulding adds a nice finishing touch.

For countertops, we installed an elegant and timeless Quartz Calacatta Botanica MSI along the walls and island, then added a Kohler Whitehaven farmhouse sink with Delta fixtures.

The client went with a vintage look for the backsplash tile, choosing Tile Shop’s Retro Lino Ceramic Subway Tile #494434.

On flooring, the client chose Pergo’s 5-inch-by-60-inch Luxury Vinyl Plank in Carob to seamlessly connect the new addition to the now-open dining and living room area.
