The Hayden House, a 1940s gem in the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood of Indianapolis, offered nearly everything owner Hillary Gibson wanted in her family’s “home away from home.”
Oversized windows, original hardwood floors, three bedrooms, an outdoor dining area… but it desperately needed a bathroom for the primary bedroom to complete the space.
Gibson hired Central Construction Group to work their magic, transforming an empty room into the bathroom of her dreams.
Bathroom Buildout
To create the bathroom in the home’s existing footprint, CCG closed off an empty room and created a new doorway to connect the primary bedroom with its new bathroom.
The primary bathroom features:
- Double vanity with Kohler undermount rectangular sinks and Mont Quartz vanity tops
- Walk-in shower with polished porcelain tile walls, two-stack Herringbone pattern glass accent tile, and a mosaic pebble floor
- Heated porcelain tile floor
- Chrome fixtures
- Clean Benjamin Moore paint colors, including Chantilly Lace Eggshell for the wall, Bunny Gray Satin for the vanity base, and Super White Satin for the vanity tower
“It looks so amazing,” Gibson says. “The bathroom gets great morning sunshine, and I’m so happy with how it all turned out.”
Home Away from Home
As a Hoosier native, Gibson and her family, who now live in Oregon, visit Indianapolis often, and always enjoy The Hayden House. When they’re away, Gibson rents out the home.
“We’re happy to share with others when we’re not there ourselves,” Gibson adds.
