Bathroom Remodeling Primer

Bathroom Remodeling Ideas

It’s one of the smallest but most frequently visited rooms in your home: the bathroom. No matter how big or small, a bathroom remodel requires strategy, decision making and planning. Let us help you sort through your list of wants and needs to make remodeling your bathroom a little easier.

Local Bathroom Trends

Most bathroom remodeling clients we work with want a larger shower, even if it means forgoing a bathtub or adding a freestanding soaking tub elsewhere in the master bath.

Adorn your new shower with a beautiful tile mosaic, install a rainfall showerhead or even upgrade to multiple showerheads and body sprays in the wall. Consider including a built-in shower bench for a luxurious place to start or end your day. We can even include a niche where you can store your soaps.

Flooring is another big focus in all of our bathroom remodels. Tiles that look like wood are a big trend we’re seeing right now. As are bright white surfaces — from the floor and vanity to white subway tile in the shower — which give the space a clean, fresh feeling. Neutral gray wall colors also create a spa-like feeling in the bathroom. This allows for accent colors and patterns to be easily changed with bath towels, rugs and wall décor.

Bathroom Remodel Tips

While it’s easy to spend days looking online at inspirational bathroom ideas and sorting through the beautiful materials you want to use in your new bathroom design, there are a few critical aspects of bathroom construction that come before all else.

  • Ventilation: A remodeler must make sure the bathroom is properly vented to the outside, or moisture from your steamy showers will cause mold and mildew to grow in your bathroom.
  • GFCI Outlets: Be sure your contractor installs GFCI outlets in your bathroom (the outlets with reset and test buttons), which will automatically cut power if something plugged in gets wet and protects against electrocution.
  • Shower Leaks: You need to hire an experienced bathroom remodeler like Central Construction Group to ensure your new shower is installed properly. There’s a skill to setting the shower pan, shower liner and installing tile the right way so it won’t leak and cause water damage in your house.

Updating your bathroom can deliver a good return on your investment, but it must be done well or you’ll pay for it in the long run. Hire a contractor who can talk you through the best materials, design ideas and proper construction techniques.

At CCG, we offer a 5-year warranty on our workmanship so you can enjoy that new custom shower free of any worries. Contact Central Construction Group to discuss your plans for a beautiful new bathroom.
