Bathroom Tile Design Trends We Can’t Get Enough Of In 2019

Bathroom design exists on a fulcrum. It’s easily tipped to one side: stark and lifeless or cluttered and campy (no, not the cool Met Gala kind). Too much of one thing can quickly turn a relaxing escape into a muddled mess.

Choosing a bathroom tile in the right color, style, and quantity is an art form. Bathroom tile can exist as a palette on which to paint or the belle of the ball.

Either way, we’ve wrangled up some of the best bathroom tile designs we’ve seen so far 2019 to offer some inspiration for your next bathroom remodel. Feast your eyes.

Back To (Matte) Black

Black may seem a counterintuitive choice for a bathroom, but its more popular than ever in 2019. Matte black tile has a specific elegance. It’s handsome without being overtly masculine.

Black is a psychologically “grounding” color. When used in bathroom design, it evokes a feeling of calm by blocking out distractions—exactly what you want during your bath after a long day. Plus, it doesn’t really show dirt: win-win.

Sherbet Subway

Though pastel hues have been on the rise in home design for some time, they’ve generally been used as accent colors in the form of sinks, tables, and linens. This pale pink shade is not only very on trend with Pantone’s Color of The Year, it breathes new life into the ever-popular subway tile.

Blue Ink

Blue hues in bathroom design can sway juvenile to mature. In 2019, make sure to opt for a deeper, inkier blue to evoke feelings of bliss and calm, not bouncing baby. Mix slightly different shades of blue, for a design with more movement and interest.

Textured Touch

Turn up an all-white bathroom design a notch with 3D, sculptural tiles. The shadows these tiles create give organic movement to an otherwise stagnant color palate.

Size Up

While tiny tiles still have their place in bathroom design, large format tiles are a trend we can get behind. You can use large format tiles in small spaces to make them feel bigger. One huge plus? Fewer grout lines to clean.

Get Reddy

Usually reserved for the kitchen or bedroom, red can be used to energize a morning get-ready with feelings of passion, power, and strength. Red is a bold choice for a bathroom tile that may help you make bold decisions throughout your day. And we’re here for it.
