As whimsical and character-forward as they are, vintage bathrooms aren’t always the most functional. Pedestal sinks lack storage. The bath/shower combos are often cramped, less accessible, and dark once the shower curtain closes.
Such was the case in a Broad Ripple bathroom (before pictures above) we recently overhauled. With new lighting, a walk-in shower, and a vanity sink, the airy bathroom now offers style and functionality.
Project Timeline
Our team met with the client to start planning the bathroom in April 2024. We completed selections in September, then spent Q4 remodeling.
Selections include:
- Zero-entry walk-in shower
- Meram Blanc Carrara tiles from The Tile Shop (2×4 mosaic flooring; 8×18 lower wall; 2×4 mosaic above chair rail)

Project Details
CCG replaced the pedestal sink with a very special piece — a custom floating vanity made by the client. Above the vanity, a mirrored medicine cabinet adds storage without interrupting the clean lines of the space.
The new walk-in shower offers both accessibility and elegance. With zero threshold entry, a linear drain, and no door, the design feels open and seamless. The shower controls are cleverly placed on the knee wall for easy reach, and the layered wall tile adds dimension and visual interest.
Fresh paint paired with crisp white trim, rounds out the space and ties together the room’s cool, serene palette. Thoughtfully selected lighting and plumbing fixtures enhance the room’s modern functionality while complementing the timeless aesthetic.
