The COVID-19 pandemic prompted a surge in homeowners requesting updated outdoor living spaces. With people cooped up indoors, porches, yards, and decks became a refuge — and a safer space to mingle with friends and family.
The timing was right for our exterior front porch addition in Zionsville, which Central Construction Group completed in 2021.
Porch Addition Adds Covered Outdoor Living Space
Prior to the remodel, just a single concrete stoop welcomed you into the home.
The project included demo of that concrete stoop, as well as the existing eaves, roofing, and trim. Then, the CCG team poured new footings, piers, and rebar.
They built the new deck structure, complete with a wrap-around wood railing, to become the porch. To close it off from the elements — Indiana loves a thunderstorm, after all — the team built a new roof structure, creating a gorgeous covered porch with a gable roof.
Exterior Finishes Complete the Job
While the porch certainly transforms the space, the homeowner didn’t stop there. They requested new roofing, gutters, siding, beams, and exterior finishes to completely overhaul the home’s exterior.
The new dark navy siding pairs well with the white deck railing and window frames, creating a bold look that adds depth and richness to the home, while adding just the right amount of drama.
Neighbors have noticed the increased curb appeal and stopped to pay their compliments. Overall, this project highlights the value of investing in your home by creating an outdoor space that can be enjoyed for years to come.
